Varnish applied to D9015 Tulyar
Recently, D9015 has been professionally varnished and, with the exception of No.2 end nose, this stage of the paint job is completed. Just the grey roof to go along with any final touch ups and it’s 'job done'
A result for the electricians today (14th September) with 2 good AGC1 NM23-C1 coils being located in the stores which now gives us a full set plus spares for No. 15.
The black paintwork around the brake cylinders and axle covers was touched up where required, and a start was made attaching the brass information plates along the lower edge of the bodyside.
The replacement cab floor panels for No. 2 end are now completed and stored ready for installation at the end of the restoration.
A coolant flow switch from the stores was cleaned and tested by the electrical department before being fitted to PU No. 430 which will be the replacement unit for No. 417.
A new volunteer received his induction this afternoon, welcome aboard James.
'Meet and greet' had a busy day showing visitors around the depot and a few of them made purchases and donations. Thanks everyone!
