D9015. One of the cab sliding door had some remedial attention to a sticking door lock and the wood trim under the cab step insert was installed, manufactured by a volunteer from solid mahogany. The 2 new covers for the In Cab Fire Suppression Pull Handles were fitted. Work was carried out to complete the fitting of the cab side window frame to no 2 Drivers window.
Meanwhile in the depths of the loco the Delectricians continued with their magic....... Work continued with isolating the fault on No.2 engine and to (most of) the start/stop switches.
Whilst these have been restored in the past, that was a while ago. They have degraded with a series of cold, damp winters.
We managed to clean them up, after which No.2 engine test light (in the place of the Start Contactor coils) lit up when the start buttons was pressed.
We also checked the rest of the Stop circuit, which tests out positively.
After reinstating all removed wires, I can now report we are ready to hand over to the engine team to bring the engines to life. Richard Emery.
