Last Saturday at Barrow Hill Bob and Martin carried on fitting air tanks in both nose ends. The reservoirs that go under the traction motor blowers are nearly done, they just need the drain pipes making up. I need to silver solder some end fittings on the one for no.2 end.
Mike carried on fitting remanufactured fuel tank connections and Geoff cleaned 19.
I had a short day, due to plumbing problems at home, but I sorted out that I need different flexible conduit for the traction motor cables on the outer axles. The Adaptaflex I have in stock won’t bend tightly enough to fit. I’ve now bought the modern equivalent of the original conduit.
An overhauled main and auxiliary generator arrived back from Sulzer last Friday. Thanks to Ray, Sulzer, Barrow Hill Roundhouse and Sheaf Engineering for helping to make this happen. A spare traction motor and a second auxiliary generator went away for repair as well.
