SATURDAY JUNE 16TH
Another cracking day today. It started with a bit of work at Barrow Hill on a traction motor terminal board I’ve refurbished and rebuilt and refitted to 55015.
I then went to Doncaster courtesy of a lift from Mike. From there I acted as travelling fitter on D9009 to Newcastle and then Tyne Yard for stabling. The loco was working the Driver Albert Gilmour Memorial charter from Newcastle to London and back. Albert drove Deltics and hence the tribute to a remarkable man. May you rest in peace. Thank you to his son Marcus for arranging the tour and for using D9009 from the Deltic Preservation Society to haul it. Thanks to my colleague Mick for his help today.
SUNDAY JUNE 17TH
D9009 is safely back at Barrow Hill following the run back from Tyne Yard (see pic below). Everything has worked OK yesterday evening and today. I heard a number of positive comments. Thank for those.
