The loco is booked to leave Barrow Hill at 08.18, running to Derby where it takes over from the Class 67 which brings the train from Crewe. After a break of just under 90 minutes in Carlisle, the train returns via the Tyne Valley, setting down first at York and then via Doncaster and is booked to run via Rotherham Central/Tinsley Junction/Woodburn Junction to Sheffield – new Deltic track perhaps? At Sheffield, D9009 will be detached immediately, and the Class 67 attached to the other end of the train for departure via the ‘old road’ to Chesterfield and then on to Crewe. D9009 should return to Barrow Hill , running direct to Chesterfield first, and should be back on site before the tour passes Barrow Hill South Junction with the ’67′.
