This coming Saturday sees D9009 ‘ALYCIDON’ work the southbound leg of ‘The Talisman’ railtour which runs from King’s Cross to Newcastle and back. Organised by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, the tour was originally scheduled to feature 60163 ‘TORNADO’ on the northbound journey, but with the loco not yet back in traffic, A4 60009 ‘UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA’ will now be use – a ‘number 9′ in each direction! D9009 is booked to leave Barrow Hill for Newcastle light engine mid-morning on Saturday and timings for this can be found HERE. The return leg of the tour leaves Newcastle at 17.47, setting down at Peterborough (20.37), Stevenage (21.23), Potters Bar (21.46) and King’s Cross (22.09). Full timings are HERE.
