D9009 on 6Z55 today

Following its visit to Knottingley yesterday, D9009 ‘ALYCIDON’ returned to York this afternoon. The leg from Milford Sidings to Neville Hill saw the loco used by DB Cargo on a freight working, moving 14 empty wagons (with a Class 66 acting as translator for the buckeye couplings) – an amazing sight which drew plenty of attention from photographers and the general public. The pictures below (by Pete Stojanovic and David Russell) show the train waiting to leave Milford Sidings and passing through Castleford.
