The three day gala disappeared as quickly as it appeared and with 55019 off on her travels the very next day to yet another railway (the loco is now at Haworth ready for the KWVR gala). The event was a great success with 55019 performing to the crowds and, at any stopping point along the WSR, pulling in people wanting a closer look. The cabs were full of Deltic fans and general public alike wanting a chance to ‘cab’ nineteen.
The support crew for the event were Samantha, Natalie, Darrell and Neil manning the sales stand at Minehead and those being on the loco, fitters Graham and Ray with drivers John, Mike and Stuart who had travelled down from the Midlands, Yorkshire and South coast.
We wish to thank everyone at the West Somerset Railway including the Diesel and Electric Preservation Society for inviting us to such a wonderful part of Somerset with their hospitality in looking after ourselves and our star attraction, 55019.
RHF is admired by many at Crowcombe. (Stuart Page)
